The Dräger Atlan A300/A300XL Anesthesia workstation

The design architecture of the Atlan A300/XL anesthesia machines allows for flexible response to individual customer requirements and provides an ergonomic and comfortable workstation for virtually any size operating room. Compact or large trolleys, ceiling or wall-mounted versions provide good access to the patient. The flexible design allows hardware components to be installed in different positions, such as patient monitors, intravenous pumps, IT equipment, shelves, etc., to offer customized workstation solutions.

Description

The Atlan A300/XL Anesthesia workstation are designed for low and minimal flow inhalation anesthesia in adults, children and neonates.

The devices are equipped with an electronically driven E-Vent plus piston ventilator (no additional driving gas required for operation), a mechanically controlled gas mixer with electronic flow measurement, numerical gas flow indicators and virtual flowmeters on the device screen, an integrated flowmeter for total fresh-gas flow, integrated manual emergency O2 supply; they are characterized by precise tidal volume delivery, with fresh-gas decoupling, active PEEP control and high trigger sensitivity. The fresh-gas decoupling ensures that changes in the fresh gas flow do not affect the applied tidal volume, ventilation pressure, or the accuracy of tidal volume delivery, even with very small tidal volumes, such as those down to 5 mL.

Patient Gas Measurement Module with fully integrated gas monitoring (gas sample is returned to the breathing circuit):

•concentration of O2, N2O, CO2 and anesthetics on inhalation and exhalation
•automatic identification of isoflurane, sevoflurane, desflurane, halothane, enflurane
•detection of anesthetic gas mixtures
•age-adjusted xMAC display

The compact breathing system is heated to prevent condensation and can be disassembled without tools for hygienic cleaning.

The units feature an integrated checklist and illustrated instructions, fully automatic system testing, integrated, adjustable lighting for work and documentation surfaces, and an integrated active or passive anesthetic gas scavanging.

•in case of disconnection of the central gas supply and separate spare gas cylinders, patient ventilation can be continued with atmospheric air

Operation is via a 15.3-inch touchscreen display with the standardized Dräger concept and the ability to configure the display. It is possible to display 2 or 3 curves, depending on the configuration of the device, and to configure the parameter window.

Includes the following ventilation modes: Volume-controlled, synchronised (VC-SIMV); Pressure-controlled, synchronised (PC-SIMV); CPAP / PSV; in combination with SW option AutoFlow additional with AutoFlow, synchronised (VC-SIMV/AF)

Lung Recruitment

Software option Lung Recruitment provides several lung recruitment manoeuvers:

•Inspiratory/Expiratory Hold for extending a breath
•One-step recruitment for extending a breath with adjustable pressure
•Multi-step recruitment for applying a sequence of pressure controlled mandatory breaths at variable pressure levels

Expert Views

Expert Views allows simultaneous display of 3 waveforms and 1 row of parameter boxes or display of 4 waveforms

Advanced neonatal support

Enhanced ventilation performance and monitoring functions for the anesthesia of neonates: faster waveform speed, higher sensitivity of flow measurement (lowest detection of 3 ml), minimal set tidal volume of 5 ml.

Auto-On

Using the Auto On function, the device can be programmed so that it performs an automatic system test and is tested at a specific time.

Advanced ventilation monitoring

Simultaneous display of 2 loops: Volume-pressure and flow-volume, reference loop; bar-diagram display of inspiratory and exspiratory tidal volume with measurement of the minute volume.

Advanced trends

Display of graphical trends or mini-trends simultaneously with real-time curves and volume-pressure loop; additional data export functions via USB storage device.

Advanced gas monitoring

Econometer and Econometer trend for displaying fresh-gas efficiency, display of fresh gas consumption and patient uptake (anesthetic agent and O2), consumption measurement for fresh-gas and anaesthetics per case and since last zeroing.

SW option SDC System Integration

Allows the integration into a Dräger SDC device network for exchange of information and for control and synchronization of specific functions and procedures.
